The Margarita is believed to have originated in Mexico in the late 1930s to 1940s. Regardless of its origin, it quickly became a popular cocktail, made with tequila, orange liqueur, and lime juice, often served in a salt-rimmed glass. Over time, variations of the Margarita emerged, such as the frozen Margarita, the fruit Margarita, and the frozen fruit Margarita, among others. The Margarita remains a staple cocktail in bars and restaurants and is widely considered one of the most classic cocktails of all time.
Ingredients
- 2 ounces of Tequila
- 0.5 ounce of Orange Liqueur
- 1 ounce of lime juice
- Ice from the Sunset Whiskey Co. collection.
Steps
- Let's start by covering the rim of the glass with salt. Sprinkle some salt on a flat plate and rub a wedge of lime around its rim. Next dip the top of the glass into the salt making sure the top of the glass is covered.
- Fill the shaker with ice and add the tequila, liqueur and lime juice into it.
- Shake well till the and strain the drink into the salt-rimmed glass fille with ice. You can use a single large ice block or ball too.
- Finally garnish your drink with a lime wedge and enjoy!
